CHEMICAL PEEL- Day 1

Today I will be discussing Day 1 of my Chemical Peel (Skin Renewal Treatment).  If you are  wondering if a Chemical Peel is for you..

Here are some of the reasons to consider getting one done.
  • Acne (Best treatment for Acne) **If you had 5yrs or more with Acne problem skin then you will need 3-4 Peels to treat the acne**
  • It helps with Cystic Acne
  • Acne Roscea
  • Fine lines
  • Hyper pigmentation (your dark spots will be lighter but it wont go away)
  • Scars (depends how deep the scars are. The deeper the scars then you will need more than one peel)
  • Minimize Pores.
  • If you have dry skin or Oily skin it will help with that as well.

The Contradictions are:
  • Diabetes
  • High Blood Pressure (If its not controlled)
  • Pregnant
  • Nervous
  • Retina-A (after 4mths then you can get it done)
  • Accutane (4-6mths after you will be able to get it done)
  • Alpha Hydroxy Acid (2-3mths after you will be able to get it done)
  • PMS (you can get it done before or 5 days after PMS)

This Chemical Peel I used is 100% Lactic Acid.  Lactic Acid peels the skin slower and its more friendly; its also Doctors and Aesthetician Grade.  The average price for this peel at a dermatologist will start off around $1500; however, at Vedette we only charge $500. If we come to you we will charge you $800.  There are many people that have problems with their skin, such as acne amongest other infections of the skin. For those individuals with acne skin that seeks a cure for thier problem,  should consider having this treatment done. After completing the first peel, three months after you should do the 2nd peel; followed by a facial at least two times a month. Six months after completing the second peel  you should do a facial at least  once a month.  Nine months after completing the third peel you should do the fourth peel and then you can reduce your facials down to at least once a month.  If there are pimples on the skin before treatment, expect an increase of breakouts. The treatment brings to the surface the hidden infections.

One of the side affects of a Chemical Peel will be a 3rd degree burn but the difference is that it will heal and will not leave a burn or scar.  I will post pictures of day one of My Chemical Peel Treatment (Skin Renewal Treatment).

There are other types of Chemical Peel such as:
1. Alpha Hydroxy Acid.  This Peel Removes one cell at a time each application. The side affect is the dehydration of the skin.

2. Gycolic Acid.  This peel is common use.  It contains Sugar cane.  This peel is faster but more irritation.

3. Lactic Acid.  Contains Milk(Natural).  Peels skin slower and more friendly. > This is the one we use at Vedette Beauty & Skin Care Spa.

The Process:
The Chemical Peel (Skin Renewal treatment) is applied very quickly on the face like a mask and applied on the neck if needed.  We apply it fast because once its applied the treatment start its process by breaking down the skin.  For about 4 to 20 minutes the skin will have a slight burning sensation which then we will give you a handheld fan that will cool it down if its unbearable. This feeling will disappear slowly after feeling like a numb-like sensation. This process will be for 2 days for 2 hours.  During the 2 hours the peel will be breaking down  2/3s of the Corneum (first layer of the skin). After the 2 hours we will remove the mask and apply a cream and you will continue to apply this cream during this treatment; this cream helps the peeling of the skin.  Note: Dryer skin takes longer to peel and oilier skin peels faster.

My skin is oilier so my skin will start to peel on the 3rd day.  The more muscles that we use on the face will be the area that will start to peel first; mostly around the mouth area.  I did this treatment because I had a problem with acne but as I got older it started to leave scars.

Picture after 2 hours once the Chemical Peel mask was removed.  I will do this for two days (24hours after first application). I felt no pain just a little numb and irritation but bearable.

I hope this help for those who are considering this treatment! Check back tomorrow for Day 2 of My Chemical Peel!
